From Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center
Through a set of pooled fund studies, the Virginia Department of Transportation will work with Federal, State, and local departments of transportation to establish a multiphase program to facilitate the development, field demonstration, and deployment of connected vehicle infrastructure applications. The participants in this program will complete applied research to create deployable connected vehicle infrastructure applications. The purpose of this program is to provide a means to conduct the work necessary for infrastructure providers to play a leading role in connected vehicles, as described in the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials strategic plan.
