Kyle Boyle joined UMTRI in 2014 and is a research engineer in the Biosciences Group. He earned a master’s degree in biomedical
engineering from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining UMTRI, Mr. Boyle worked at Autoliv as a test engineer.
Mr. Boyle's research interests focus on injury biomechanics. His work has involved computational modeling of impact scenarios, mechanical fixture design, and biomechanical impact testing. He is involved in the setup and running of various rigid body and finite element models investigating topics such as restraint optimization, occupant size, and occupant posture with the use of crash dummy and human body models. He also has aided in numerous sled impact tests focusing on vulnerable occupants including children and occupants seated in wheelchairs.
