Research Interests/Areas of Expertise

Dr. Wu has been working to address human factor issues related to connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) to improve road and vehicle designs. His research interests focus on developing methods and algorithms in measuring user trust in CAVs, modeling driver behavior under V2X conditions, examining driver behavior when interacting with intelligent transportation systems, and computing driver visual perception under naturalistic driving. The techniques Dr. Yu has applied in his research include mining large scale naturalistic driving data, machine learning, and computer-aided road design. He has published several peer-reviewed articles in the transportation leading journals including Transportation Research Part C and Accident Analysis & Prevention.
