Biography
Dr. Son is a young scientist passionate about developing innovative mobility solutions through the integration of computer vision and robotics technologies. He earned a BS in Information and Communication Technology from Inha University in Korea, followed by an MS in Electrical Computer Engineering with a focus on Computer Vision from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He received a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in Mobility Assistive Systems, also from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
His pioneering research includes the development of a Smart mobility system-V2X, aimed at enhancing orientation and mobility for people with visual impairments in different modality environments. Dr. Son has researched lightweight semantic segmentation networks working in real-time on low-compute devices for perception and focused on the applicability of his research outcomes with practical scenarios.
